An Olympic style competition that might interest you

Are you extremely keen to prove yourself in the world of winter sports – whether it be Alpine Skiing, Cross-Country Skiing, Ski Jumping, Biathlon, Ice Hockey, or a presentation sport- Indoor Football or Futsal as it is fondly known?

For the first time ever, the World Winter Masters Games are going to be held at Bled, Slovenia from the 25th – 31st January, 2010.

The aim of these Games, which will be organised by the International Master Games Association, is to support the Olympic movement and promote the ‘sport for all’  philosophy of the Olympic Charter by encouraging mature athletes to practice sports regularly and to participate in Masters Games.

Anyone over the age of 25 may register to take part, and they are expecting more than 5000 athletes from more than 60 countries to participate.

The Alpine Skiing competitions will be held in Kranjska Gora, Ski Jumping will be at Planica, and Cross Country and Biathlon Skiing will be at Pokljuka.

It sounds like it’s going to be quite a party!

Early bird registrations have already begun – they started on 25th January, 2009. However, here are some important facts for you should you be interested:

*Individual entry fee is payable once for all and you can compete in all the events of your sport.
